The Sunlight Foundation, whose aim is to shed light on government operations and promote transparency, recently launched a mobile app called Sitegeist. The app pulls free APIs from publicly available sources like the U.S. Census Bureau, Yelp and others to provide users with localized information about an area’s demographics, statistics and more in a visually appealing way.
