What are NYC officials planning to use to combat homelessness?

December 10, 2012 By

Answer: shipping containers

New York's homelessness problem has become worse post-Hurricane Sandy, but Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration has been developing a disaster-response housing program for five years that employs shipping containers as individual apartments, Gizmag reports.

Each container would have a window and door added at each end, and it's hoped that could be arranged en masse and house tens or hundreds of thousands of people. Larger apartments made from modified containers would be needed to house families.

Perhaps we should seal the homeless in and ship them to a socialist country to support?
