The Experimental Breeder Reactor 1 (EBR-1) was the world's first electricity-generating nuclear power plant. Located in southern Idaho, the plant produced enough electricity to power four lightbulbs. The facility was never intended to generate a large amount of electricity. Instead, it was designed for testing purposes.
