West Virginia CTO Kyle Schafer Named NASCIO President

NASCIO leadership for 2010-2011 includes Schafer, Oregon CIO Dugan Petty as vice president and Nebraska CIO Brenda Decker as secretary-treasurer.

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) has elected its executive leadership for 2010-2011, the organization announced Wednesday, Sept. 29, during the organization’s annual conference.

West Virginia CTO Kyle Schafer will serve as NASCIO president for the next year, NASCIO announced. Schafer will succeed Utah CIO Steve Fletcher, who served as NASCIO president for the 2009-2010 year.

Other incoming NASCIO officers include:

  • Vice President – Dugan Petty, Oregon CIO
  • Secretary-Treasurer – Nebraska CIO Brenda Decker
  • Past-President – Utah CIO Steve Fletcher
     
Incoming NASCIO directors (two-year terms) include:

  • Montana CIO Dick Clark
  • New Jersey Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Adel Ebeid
  • Arizona CIO Chad Kirkpatrick
  • Illinois CIO Greg Wass
     
Returning NASCIO executive committee members are Arkansas CTO Claire Bailey, Tennessee CIO Mark Bengel and South Dakota CIO Otto Doll. The new leadership took effect Sept. 27.
