Access Indiana

Continued success through a shared vision

Access Indiana, the Indiana State Web site, launched in 1995, was built and maintained through a partnership with NIC subsidiary Indiana Interactive at no cost to taxpayers. Two years ago, the Center for Digital Government (CDG) selected the site, as "Best of Breed," and it has continued to exemplify the best of state Web sites, coming in second in CDG's 2004 Best of the Web competition. Indiana State CIO Laura Larimer credited a "shared vision" for the site's utility and its continued success. "It cannot be a single person's vision," said Larimer. "It has to be a shared vision whether it starts with a small or a large group. It's also about communication and spreading that vision everywhere in the organization."
