IT Consolidation Cases Presented at Western CIO Forum

South Dakota consolidation saves 25 percent, says CIO

Otto Doll
Early last month, four Western state CIOs discussed their states' IT consolidation projects at the Western CIO Forum in Santa Fe, N.M. Otto Doll, CIO of South Dakota; Curtis Wolf, CIO of North Dakota; Leroy Williams, CIO of Colorado; and Larry Biggio, CIO of Wyoming presented, and notes of those presentations are online.

Doll, whose PowerPoint presentation is also online, stated that through consolidation, the state reduced IT expenses by 25 percent: "We are supporting the state for $3 for every $4 they used to spend before consolidation."
