Nebraska Governor Directs Agencies to Convert Paper Forms to Digital Format

High-use forms must be ready by end of this year

Tomorrow morning, Nebraska governor Mike Johanns will send a directive to state agencies that 1,200 high-use paper forms must be available in editable electronic format by the end of the year, according to Lt. Gov. Dave Heineman speaking at the Nebraska Digital Government Summit. In addition, all other forms must be available in editable electronic form by Dec. 31, 2004. A long term goal, said Heineman, is to introduce smart forms which become transactional.
