Top Digital States Winners Honored at NASCIO 2012 Annual Meeting

Two 'A' grade states and those with best practices receive awards during special event held Oct. 21 in San Diego.

SAN DIEGO -- The states honored for their exemplary technology practices in the 2012 Digital States Survey gathered the evening of Sunday, Oct. 21, in San Diego to accept their awards.

Both Michigan and Utah received the only two 'A' grades; they demonstrated results across all survey categories, and nimble leaders use modernization to implement strategic priorities and operational efficiencies, according to the survey, which also says that these states show evidence of meaningful collaboration; their performance measures and metrics are widely adopted; and their budget cuts tend to be made strategically.

The states honored in eight best practices categories -- Adaptive Leadership; Enterprise ICT; Finance and Administration; Public Safety; Health and Human Services; Transportation; Commerce, Labor and Taxation -- Economic, Business, Community and Workforce Development; and Citizen Engagement -- also received their awards at this event, held in San Diego's true, original speakeasy at the U.S. Grant Hotel.
