The gov tech startup, which helps governments create digital versions of forms, is now offering all customers the ability to put customizable payment fields into those forms, including popular gateways like PayPal.
That means that governments will now be able to take payments from constituents digitally through the forms it creates using SeamlessDocs. The feature has been in beta mode, but as of today the company is making it available to all customers.
“Government agencies must be able to meet the evolving expectations of constituents who increasingly want to do everything online,” said SeamlessDocs CEO and co-founder Jonathon Ende in a statement. “This new feature ensures our partners can meet, and hopefully exceed, those expectations.”
The feature comes with an application programming interface (API) that allows users to connect with payment gateways such as PayPal, Stripe and WePay. As of Monday, the list of supported gateways included 16 options, but a company spokesperson said many other gateways could be enabled upon request.
The company is also giving government customers the ability to customize some aspects of the payment process. Users can add convenience fees to forms, for example. Agencies can also add fields that allow applicants to state how much they’re willing to pay or add a description to their payment.
