Success Academy Charter Schools has been honored with a 2025 AWS Champions Award for its use of cloud-powered artificial intelligence to enhance data accessibility and security, streamline operations, and boost student achievement. By integrating Natural Language Processing (NLP) and generative AI within its AWS infrastructure, Success Academy is setting a new standard for how K–12 schools can harness technology to empower staff and support student success.

Project Overview
Since 2018, Success Academy has relied on Amazon Redshift as its central data warehouse, consolidating data from its student information system and other core platforms. Building on this strong foundation, the school system is advancing an ambitious AI strategy through:
  1. Natural Language Processing with Amazon Bedrock – enabling conversational access to complex data and increasing self-service capabilities.
  2. AI-Powered Workflow Automation – streamlining administrative processes to reduce manual reporting and free staff time for instructional priorities.
These initiatives are projected to increase data self-service by 50%, cut manual reporting by 40%, and save more than 12,000 staff hours annually while still ensuring our data is secure. Success Academy’s work demonstrates how cloud and AI innovations can translate into practical benefits for educators while advancing equity, efficiency, and excellence in K–12 education.
