NASHVILLE — People who work in government IT aren’t often compared to superheroes, but perhaps they should be.

At the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) Annual conference this week, Ohio CIO Ervan Rodgers stressed the importance of working together to build an organization that is ready not only for unforeseen incidents like cyberattacks, but one that is prepared for the evolution of technology.

“When it comes down to resiliency, it comes down to having a cohesive teamwork effort. This is a journey and we have to do it as a team sport,” he said.

While CIOs may not have the supernatural abilities seen in the likes of the Hulk or the Black Widow, future-proofing an organization hinges on ensuring everyone on the team is prepared for the culture change needed to accompany what’s next in tech.
