House Votes to Delay Biometric Passport Requirement

Extends October deadline one year

The U.S. House of Representatives voted to delay implementation of the biometric passport requirement -- scheduled for Oct 26 -- for another year. The delay addresses some countries' claims they cannot meet the deadline. The Senate will now consider the bill.
