San Diego County Launches Fire Hazard Severity Map

The map shows the likelihood an area will burn sometime during the next few decades.

San Diego County has launched a new searchable online map that shows the severity of fire hazards in neighborhoods and at individual addresses.

The Wildfire Hazard Map is much like a flood map, showing the likelihood an area will burn sometime during the next few decades. The map displays color-coded fire hazard severity zones overlaid over the perimeters of large fires and firestorms that have happened the past 35 years.

The map is available on the ReadySanDiego website presented by the County of San Diego Office of Emergency Services.
