New York City ditched an expensive Web system that parents rarely used in favor of a mobile-friendly website that parents can use to check up on their students' data.
The old ARIS system cost $95 million back in 2007, while the new one cost just $2 million. And it will be easier to use for parents, who will be able to keep an eye on their students' attendance, report cards and test scores, reports the NY Daily News.
This time, the city is asking for parent feedback on the website and making sure they get relevant information about their children quickly.
