Cascadia Rising 2016 Exercise Update

This exercise is less than a month away.

This is verbatim from an email I received:

Just a little over 30 days until the start of the Cascadia Rising 2016 (CR-16) Exercise! While communities and agencies are in the midst of preparing for exercise conduct, we wanted to take a moment to update everyone on some of the remaining exercise design actions as we close in on STARTEX.

MSEL Review Status
Our thanks to all those communities that have submitted their Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) for the exercise. The MSELs received to date are well crafted, and will provide exercise players in EOCs with realistic situations and challenges to resolve both internally and in collaboration with neighboring communities and other levels of government. Our goal is to lock-in the master MSEL that includes all county and city MSELs by the end of May.

Controller and Evaluator Training
A virtual training workshop for all those designated as either controllers or evaluators for the exercise will take place on Tuesday, May 17 via Adobe Connect. Whether an experienced exercise hand, or someone new to exercise management, this C&E training will provide a great overview of general C&E duties as well as specific information germane to the conduct of Cascadia Rising. We highly encourage all those designated as controllers and simulators in local Control Cells and the EOC, and those serving as evaluators in EOCs to attend this session (see attached registration flyer and agenda). A calendar invite has already been distributed, please feel free to forward to your C&E staff that may not have received it directly.

CR-16 Exercise Website
For those that have not already registered on the CR-16 Exercise website, now is a great time! On the website, exercise planners will have access to the Control and Evaluation Plan, the latest EXPLAN, the exercise Scenario document, various exercise briefings and more.
