It was not that many years back that I might given asteroid impact as an example of something that we were not planning for. Well, I can't say that anymore. Does your Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA), include asteroid impact?

Then of course there is the movie Armageddon with a really big asteroid. 1998 was a good year for objects from space hitting earth. Ah, I don't think we'll be sending a shuttle crew to outer space anytime soon.
