When any new endeavor (I'll call social media a disruptive technology) starts there are always obstacles and in some cases people building brick walls in the way of progress. One of those was the challenge of, “How are you going to respond to Freedom of Information Act requests?” As I recall there were no easy solutions.
Just yesterday someone pointed out one possible vendor provided solution to archiving social media. Check out ArchiveSocial for what they have to offer.
In emergency management we all know about the value of documentation when it comes to disasters. This type of resource is one we could use for emergencies and disasters to record what was shared or collected.
Perhaps there are many other solutions out there today, but we start by looking for a mousetrap, perhaps you know of a better one than this.
Leave a comment if you know of alternative solutions.
