COVID Testing Rates by State

It is not an even playing field when you compare state-to-state stats.

(Tuesday, April 6th)

This might not be true across the board, but in many places the vaccination effort has replaced testing for COVID-19. Thus, we have less information available on the status of where the infection rate is across the board.

See this Johns Hopkins testing website for statistics on each state.

Just taking the first four states, you can see the discrepancy between Alabama and Alaska in the number of tests being administered per 100,000 in population. Situational awareness on the progress of the disease comes from testing. Thus, we might be flying a bit blind at this point.
