Job: Regional Emergency Management Industry Specialist - West Coast Region

Credentialing is becoming a must for emergency management.

When you look at trends in emergency management, one of the areas that is expanding rapidly for the profession is to have a way of issuing credentials for different aspects of disaster response, from Incident Management Teams (IMT) to even having the ability to credential people for the different positions required in activated Emergency Operations Centers (EOC)—and other missions.

See the job posting below from Merit.

Regional Emergency Management Industry Specialist - West Coast Region

About Merit

Merit is driven by the belief that our verified identity technology can be life-changing for organizations and their constituents by providing autonomy, foresight, and confidence to shape their future. Merit solves the need for better human coordination by enabling trusted organizations to capture and certify people-data, including skills, licenses, credentials, eligibility statuses, on the job training hours, memberships, and opportunities. Merit is a trusted partner to state agencies, private and municipal organizations and our verified identity technology can solve critical real-world problems at scale, while giving constituents by providing autonomy, foresight, and confidence to shape their future.

Using Merit, organizations can capture and certify people-data in digital containers called merits (Watch this video to learn more: What is Merit?), and grant them to individuals. All of an individual’s merits are stored in one place, providing people agency over their verified data, giving people secure access and selective sharing with other organizations.

By connecting organizations and individuals, the Merit Platform supports a robust verified identity network that serves as a source of truth and trust for entire industries; bringing visibility, liquidity, and trust to people’s data.

Merit has been widely adopted and used by thousands of organizations, notably:

  • Merit partnered with the Louisiana Workforce Commission to integrate Merit’s
electronic credentialing platform into LWC and its WIOA funded training partners, including Apprenticeship Louisiana and Jobs for America’s Graduates-LA, to better understand the skills of individuals in the
State, verify the credentials of its workforce, better connect workers to opportunities, and empower workers and learners with customized career pathways.
  • Virginia’s Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) partnered with Merit to streamline licensing and digital credentialing for the more than 300,000 professionals across more than 40 industries that are required to have a license to work. With Merit, those licenses are now digital, accessible, and easily verifiable by consumers and businesses.
  • The Ohio Department of Education partnered with Merit to administer the state’s Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE) Education Savings Account program. The ACE program provides qualifying families with a $500 credit that can be used to pay for a variety of verified education enrichment activities to accelerate learning for students impacted by the COVID-19pandemic. Merit’s verified identity solution is providing the Ohio Department of Education with education provider verification, payment processing and verification, and a robust education marketplace for qualified students and families.
  • The Florida Division of Emergency Management partnered with Merit to provide a fast, secure,
paperless solution for the verification and time-tracking of thousands of volunteers and paid medical professionals assisting with the statewide COVID-19 vaccination efforts. As a result of our work
together, FDEM was named a StateScoop 50 Award winner for the State IT Innovation of the Year.

Our Values

Merit’s values are more than just words on paper – they permeate the company’s brand, culture, products, and even individual actions. Our values are:
