Protecting the Vote--The War on Misinformation

This "conflict" will be with us for the foreseeable future.

Protecting the Vote: The War on Misinformation is no easy task in today's world.

If anything that is problematic in our current digital world it is the seeking for truth in a misinformation—disinformation world.

The linked article calls out all the issues and some of the solutions. One simple one, that is evidently not that simple, is for small county election offices is to "have a website" with accurate information.

I do worry that the most foundational of elements for a democracy is the citizen's right to have their vote counted and tallied properly. Those who are sowing seeds of malinformation in order to win or just disrupt and cause doubt are of the worst brand of people and organizations.

It will be interesting to watch how this election cycle plays out both in the cyber and in the physical world. Election workers are being physically threatened in some places.
