The Big One Touched a Nerve

Like being at the dentist, this one got attention.

The author of the Really Big One, an article in the New Yorker magazine found out that she had touched a nerve with people.  To the point that she wrote a follow-up article (I'm assuming online) that lays out disaster preparedness information, see How to Stay Safe When the Big One Comes.

That is a pretty good piece on disaster preparedness.  The one thing I would have emphasized more is making a plan first, which then guides the rest of your preparedness activities.

Ah, but will anyone really do anything to prepare?
