Washington State Archives is pleased to offer two free webinars on Essential Records (ER) and Records Emergency Planning and Response (REPR).
Developed by the Intergovernmental Preparedness for Essential Records (IPER) and supported with funding by FEMA, these two instructor-led webinars provide training to state, local, and tribal entities about how to protect essential records during emergencies and how to respond and recovery from a disaster.
IPER Courses count towards the following certification programs:
FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency - Professional Continuity Professional Level 1 Certificate
IIMC International Institute of Municipal Clerks - Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and Master Municipal Clerk (MMC)
NAGARA National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators - Local Government Archives and Records Administration Certificate
ACA Academy of Certified Archivists - Certified Archivists Certification Maintenance Program
Essential Records - Starting March 8

• Analyze and prioritize records, assessing specific risks and protection strategies
• Emergency availability time frames

Records Emergency Planning and Response - Starting May 10
• Benefits of records emergency planning
• Records emergency planning and COOP plans
• Plan and develop a records emergency action plan
• Assessing damage in the event of a disaster
• Implementing response and recovery efforts
Each course is a series of webinars offered once a week for a 4 week period. Participants are required to attend each webinar offered in the series in order to fulfill credit requirements.
