Hometown Security

What will be retained, and what will be replaced by the new administration?

One thing I know for sure is that new administrations are not great admirers of what previous administrations have accomplished or initiated. It is this type of thinking that keeps Washington, D.C. contractors happy and employed.

So, will Hometown Security be one of the themes that goes by the wayside, or will it stay for a long cup of coffee? Much depends on who gets appointed to head up the Department of Homeland Security and the critical infrastructure efforts. The idea of combining and emphasizing the physical and cybersecurity aspects of critical infrastructure is a good one. Why replicate the overhead when you can just have more individual expertise added to existing physical security efforts?

Expect some twists and turns in emphasis in the next 9 to 12 months as people get appointed and start shaping or reshaping programmatic efforts.
