Jobs: FEMA Looking for a Few Good Men and Women

The only mistake that Craig Fugate made.

I am told that FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate grew tired of FEMA reservists setting the terms for their employment. Thus, he set up standards for when, for how long and how much they would be available for deployment. Many looked at the new requirements and said, "You can take this job and shove it." They quit!

Thus, there is a big gaping hole in the number of needs versus the number of people available for deployment to disaster sites. It seems to me that there have been a bunch of places that need FEMA reservists. Therefore, I do not find it surprising to see this recruitment item below.

Yes, you are living in motel to motel. Yes, you are away from family, friends and girlfriend and boyfriend. But, if it is experience that you are looking for, you can likely achieve full-time employment and check that box on experience that will give you the ability to find a full-time job in one location.

See the FEMA announcement below:

FEMA is seeking talented men and women who are eager to assist disaster survivors as Reservist employees. In this role, you will have the opportunity to travel, receive training and build your professional network.
