Smallsats Are in Your Future

Think micro satellites, thousands of them in orbit.

The White House shared this message, Harnessing the Small Satellite Revolution to Promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Space. It is worth your reading to better understand how the rocket launches of the past that put up large satellites will continue, but then there will many more going into orbit due to "The recent advent of smallsats, spacecraft that weigh anywhere from an ounce to as much as a few hundred pounds, has upended that status quo."

As an ex-military guy I keep thinking of these rockets going into space and releasing hundreds, if not thousands of smallsats into space, much like a cluster bomb (the smallsats are not bombs) do.

It is but another aspect of the digital river that we swim in these days.
