Video: Not Everything is Collaboration

This was a fun event that I spoke at last night — a 5-minute video.

Ignite Seattle is a quarterly event in held in Downtown Town Hall Seattle. It is a bit like a mini TED Talk. The format is 16 speakers. Each one gets five minutes to share information/make a presentation. What makes it fast paced is that each speaker must have 20 slides and they "automatically advance" every 15 seconds — there is no clicker. Try that when making your next presentation!

My presentation, which I like to have fun with, was Not Everything is Collaboration. Yes, I did some poking fun at people and the recent election — it was Seattle after all. Reminder — know your audience — and what might work! The reference to Napoleon at the opening of my talk came from the first speaker's message ... to put that in context.

All the presentations for the evening are at this link, I would like to recommend three in particular that were very meaningful to me, and one especially emotional for myself.

6. Hello My Friend

9. After the Psych Ward

12. The Irish Goodbye

Several years ago I made my first presentation at Ignite Seattle with the title How to Kill Your Husband, and other Disaster Tips. And, last night I ran into a couple who were at that presentation and they told me they are continuing to work on their disaster preparedness. FYI, the husband was still alive!
