Fresh water is one of the natural resources that will become in short supply, especially in the West. It is an aspect of climate change that we are starting to see, drought in some areas and flash flooding and an over-abundance of rain in others. Since we don't react until it is a calamity, I don't expect to see many changes in my lifetime.
One success story is Las Vegas and Nevada where they got on the conservation bandwagon years ago and are having a real impact on the amount of water being used and recycled in their region.
