A wind advisory is in effect in central Pennsylvania until Wednesday evening. It covers an area that includes Dauphin, Perry, Cumberland, Lebanon, Adams, York and Lancaster counties.
Beyond winds at 25 mph to 25 mph, the region could see gusts up to 55 mph Wednesday.
That could lead to more power outages, the NWS notes, as tree branches come down.
Thousands of people, particularly in Lancaster County, lost power Tuesday night as wind and the weight of wet snow brought down power lines.
As of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, PPL is reporting about 2,500 without power in Perry and Lancaster counties, twice as many in Luzerne County, and a few hundred in and around Dauphin, York, Lebanon and Cumberland counties. First Energy reports around 50 outages in the York area.
Flood warnings
A flood warning is in effect until Thursday, the National Weather Service reports.
