Do you live in a city? Chances are you do…or that you will soon. By mid-century 70 percent of the planet’s population will live in cities – a truly dramatic shift in human civilization. To cope with this urban migration, many cities are turning to technology to help them find ways to be smarter.

FutureStructure Editor Chad Vander Veen recently spent a few days at the Smart Cities Now Forum, hosted by the Smart Cities Council, Qualcomm and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. The event took place in beautiful San Diego on the Qualcomm campus.
