California’s ‘Save Our Water’ Campaign Starts 2015 with Updated Website

Barring a turnaround, the state will be facing another dry year and the continuation of what’s become the West’s most serious drought in hundreds of years.

California has gone more than two weeks without precipitation and the Sierra Nevada snowpack is below average for early January. Barring a turnaround, the state will be facing another dry year and the continuation of what’s become the West’s most serious drought in hundreds of years.

The public needs up-to-date online information about California’s water outlook, and now one prominent website has a new look.

Save Our Water is California’s statewide conservation program managed through a partnership between the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA).

The Save Our Water website highlights water-saving tips for indoors and outdoors, at home and at work. Officials said the new design improves the user experience and is more searchable.

Many state websites, including the governor’s homepage, are linking to the Save Our Water portal due to the ongoing drought.
