SatawatK
(TNS) — The latest phase of the state's Completing Access to Broadband program will provide broadband connection services to 3,292 homes and businesses in six Triad counties, the governor's office said Friday.

These projects will be funded by the federal American Rescue Plan and awarded by the state Department of Information Technology and individual counties, as well as from the selected broadband providers.

Connect Holding II LLC, a Brightspeed affiliate, will provide high-speed internet access to: 164 homes and businesses in Guilford County; 435 homes and businesses in Rockingham County; 82 homes and businesses in Stokes County; 389 homes and businesses in Surry County; and 19 homes and businesses in Yadkin County.

Randolph Telephone Membership Corp., Spectrum Southeast LLC and Connect Holding II will contribute to provide access to 1,403 homes and businesses in Randolph County.

The program’s procurement process creates a partnership between counties and the state to identify areas that need access, solicit proposals from prequalified internet service providers, and quickly make awards.

Participating companies must agree to provide high-speed service that reliably meets or exceeds speeds of 100 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload.
