(TNS) — If you are an iPhone user, and you have worn a mask during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak while trying to access your device, you know that it can be a challenge to use Face ID.

Apple is responding to this issue with the release of new beta iPhone software, according to a recent report.

The new iOS 13.5 will allow users to unlock their phone by bringing the passcode feature back to the lock screen, according to CNN Business.

Instead of replacing the Face ID feature entirely, users will swipe up to skip the face recognition process and input their passcode if they’re wearing a mask, according to the report. When at home, the convenience of using Face ID will still be available -- no need to swipe up.

It’s unclear when the fix will be rolled out, states the report.
