BIO-key Releases FireRMS 5

BIO-key International Inc. has released version five of FireRMS, the company's records management system for fire departments across North America.

More than 1,500 fire departments use BIO-key's current Fire Records Management products. FireRMS 5.0's new capability is the result of collaboration with customers. FireRMS 5.0 delivers new features and functionality that the fire safety industry needs and has been seeking.

FireRMS 5.0 is widely used by major cities as well as smaller departments across North America as the primary tool to manage fire department operations. Following the acquisition of Aether's Mobile Government Division last October, BIO-key moved quickly to better understand customer requirements and complete development of this new upgrade. The broad new customization capability of this product allows departments to tailor the user interface to meet their specific requirements and to adapt to the changing and increased demands placed on first responders.

Howard County, Maryland's Department of Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Dale Gardner of says, "We tested the new software as a beta site, and the new functionality is just what we needed. For example, we can easily customize the user interface to make it simpler to use and to tailor it to meet our department's specific needs. That makes our job easier, helps reduce training time and ultimately reduces costs."
