Clark County, Nevada, Employs Content and Agenda Management Solution

"This solution will replace our outdated voting system, speed up creation of meeting minutes, provide video streaming and enable internal staff and the public to easily search and retrieve agenda documents and materials over the Web."

Clark County, Nevada, the 16th most populated county in the United States, has contracted to implement content management and agenda management solutions offered by SIRE Technologies and Granicus.

Each department in the county will be using SIRE Agenda Plus which will streamline workflow and automate processes such as agenda packet creation and posting of agendas and supporting documents directly to the Internet. This will also dramatically reduce the time and effort required to prepare and distribute documents throughout the county and to the public, ultimately saving taxpayer funds. The county board will also use the system to vote on legislation and automatically count the votes, eliminating the need for tedious, time-consuming recounts.

"Our goal with this project is to make our agenda process more efficient and effective," said Andrew Newell, Clark County applications supervisor and project manager. "This solution will replace our outdated voting system, speed up creation of meeting minutes, provide video streaming and enable internal staff and the public to easily search and retrieve agenda documents and materials over the Web. An enormous amount of time and energy is spent preparing agendas for our bi-monthly commissioner meetings. In fact, due to the scale of the meetings, it sometimes took three weeks or more to prepare and finalize meeting minutes for everyone; our objective with the new software ... is to bring that down to a few days."
