Governor's Office Launches Web Site for State's Students

Project is result of work done by summer college interns

Saint Paul, Minn. -- As Minnesota school kids head back to the classroom, Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Lt. Governor Carol Molnau are launching a new addition to their official Web site -- a kids' Web page, designed to provide students with fun, interactive information about state government.

"Kids ask the best questions," said Leslie Kupchella, Pawlenty's Press Secretary. "The governor wanted to provide them with some answers to those questions and also have a fun way for young people to learn more about their state."

In addition to biographical information on Governor Pawlenty and Lt. Governor Molnau, the site also includes interesting facts about Minnesota, useful safety tips for roller-blading, biking, boating and fishing, and educational games.

Information on the Web site was assembled using some of the questions sent to the state's top two officials. The entire site was a project of three summer college interns in the Governor's Office: Kevin Watterson, Mankato; Jo Kent, Minnetonka; and Mark Santi, Mahtomedi.
