Vietnam Deploys On-Demand Computing in Ho Chi Minh City

Pilot project targets 1,000 education and small business users

Simdesk Technologies Inc., a provider of on-demand computing technology, announced it has implemented its on-demand computing platform in Ho Chi Minh City on behalf of Vietnam's Saigon Hi-Tech Park, the city's Management Office of Information Technology Projects and the Youth Scientific and Technological Promotion Center. The Vietnam governmental agencies are leveraging Simdesk's on-demand computing technology to support their vision of developing a high-tech focused municipality that will greatly enhance the economic, technological, and intellectual base of Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern Economic Region of Vietnam.

As the initial phase of a large-scale launch in Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Hi-Tech Park is introducing on-demand computing services to end users citywide with a primary focus on the government and education sectors. The pilot project for Ho Chi Minh City has already begun with a target of approximately 1,000 users in the education and small-to-medium business sectors.

"We chose to deploy Simdesk's on-demand computing platform because it supports our goal of efficiently and cost-effectively delivering technology to the citizens of Ho Chi Minh City," said Nguyen Dinh Mai, deputy head of Saigon Hi-Tech Park. "Simdesk's financially sustainable model for delivering computing services over the Internet allows us to facilitate widespread access to meaningful technology for our citizens."
