International Telecommunications Union Receives Donation of Satellite Communications Terminals
Seventy Broadband Global Area Network terminals donated to keep first responders communicating following disasters.
Inmarsat and Vizada SAS have donated 70 laptop-sized broadband global area network (BGAN) terminals to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), in order to improve communications between first responders in the wake of disasters such as the recent earthquake in Sumatra, tsunami that struck American Samoa. The companies also agreed to provide the ITU with preferential airtime rates.
