LAPD Speeds Investigations with Computer Assessment Tool

The Los Angeles Police Department recently adopted Asvaco's Computer Assessment Tool (CAT) for use in a high profile incident allowing it to create a Virtual Investigation. The CAT, a software data collection tool, will allow the LAPD to capture the investigation electronically and include all media, hypermedia and the pertinent facts of the case in one sophisticated electronic investigative report. The CAT will allow the LAPD to capture the investigation and, if required, include text-to-speech, global mapping, global positioning satellite, video and spherical video data into one sophisticated virtual investigative report.

During an unfurling disaster, CAT links emergency responders together in order to securely share information and route emergency vehicles, supplies, and support wherever needed; coordinates in real time with all emergency facilities; begins assessing the damage at multiple locations on the spot; and most importantly, identifies other hazards that can imperil emergency personnel or those needing assistance. CAT can also provide immediate notification to authorities of the alleged perpetrators and quickly forward pictures and other identifying details.

Asvaco can accept data from GPS systems to give the assessor a view from the sky, also allowing the assessor to zoom down to the streets and under the streets, and into buildings with a 360-degree spherical view. Asvaco's CAT enables these platforms to be used real time, or be assessed at the convenience of the user, generating statistical data and damage control assessments as sophisticated as the situation requires.
