North Texas Cities to Plug into Regional Public Safety Radio Network

Participating cities plan to hire a consultant to help them go after federal grants to fund the system. 

Seven Tarrant County, Texas, cities are planning to join a North Texas public safety radio network at a cost of $25 million which the cities plan to fund with federal grants, according to the Forth Worth, Texas, Star-Telegram. The cities, including Arlington, Bedford, Colleyville, Euless, Grapevine, Kellar and Southlake, plan to hire a consultant to help them identify grants that can be used to fund the system. Construction of the system is expected to take three years.
