Description: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HIGHWAY DESIGN BRANCH REQUEST FOR LETTERS OF INTEREST The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) desires to engage Private Engineering and/or Surveying firms for the purpose of performing route location surveys and Global Positioning Surveys on various transportation projects throughout the state. The work will consist of obtaining survey data and base plan sheet preparation necessary for the design of highway projects. Tasks may include but not be limited to, establishing horizontal and vertical survey ground control, establishing horizontal and vertical aerial photogrametric control to centimeter accuracy, setting photo control panels, delineating and mapping wetlands marked and flagged in the field by NCDOT biologists to sub-meter accuracy, delineating and flagging proposed highway corridor limits, baseline control surveys, centerline stake out, property information, and surveys necessary for right of way acquisition. Private Engineering and/or Survey firms are invited to have letters of interest for furnishing the survey services to the Highway Design Branch (Century Center, Building 1, Entrance A-1), by 4:30 P.M. on March 28, 2002. Letters of interest received after this deadline will not be considered. Nine (9) total letters of interest are required. Firms submitting fewer copies will not be considered. Firms submitting letters of interest are encouraged to carefully check them for conformance to the requirements stated above. If letters of interest do not meet these requirements or if they are delivered to any office other than D. M. Barbour, P.E., they will be disqualified. No exception will be granted.
