"Our Office of Emergency Services and Homeland Security has made tremendous progress in San Francisco's emergency preparedness over the past two years. This award is recognition from Director Conroy's peers throughout the region that San Francisco is doing an excellent job in this field," continued the mayor.
The Diamond Award is given for outstanding achievement in emergency management, and it is the highest level of recognition given by CESA. The nominations for this award came from emergency managers in Sonoma, San Mateo and Marin Counties.
The California Emergency Services Association was founded in 1965 with the mission of preserving and protecting property through emergency preparedness and disaster mitigation. The group's members include emergency managers and planners from all levels of government, hospital/medical professionals, education representatives, public service organizations, and business/industry emergency planners.
