San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom yesterday announced that residents and others with San Francisco parking tickets would no longer be charged a fee when paying their parking citations online.
The removal of the fee is just one of the customer service improvements made recently by the Department of Parking and Traffic to make dealing with parking citations faster and more efficient. Among these improvements was the implementation of a new Q-Matic system at the Howard Street offices of DPT, where wait times have dropped to an average of nine minutes per customer.
"Paying your parking tickets should be as fast and hassle free as possible," said Newsom. "By removing this fee, we're not only making it easier to pay parking tickets online but we're enhancing our efforts to improve revenue collection."
