The purpose of this event is to properly exercise the region's emergency medical services system and preparing public safety personnel to respond to a major emergency incident in the Hampton Roads region.
Because this is a full-scale regional exercise it is anticipated that there will be a large volume of first responders, apparatus and emergency vehicles on site from all participating cities in the Hampton Roads region. The public should not be alarmed or concerned with the training exercise. For security and safety reasons, and to ensure no outside interference with the operations-based exercise, the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater will be closed and the area surrounding the parking lots will be secured as well.
