APCO Releases New Web Seminar Series

The first offerings in the series concentrate on Leadership and Supervision

The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Institute announced the release of its new Supervisor Tool Kit Web Seminar Series. The first offerings in the series concentrate on Leadership and Supervision. Each seminar in the series is one hour and qualifies for one continuing dispatch education (CDE) credit. The Leadership and Supervision offerings will run from January though June 2006. Titles in the Leadership and Supervision offerings are:
  • Transitioning to Supervisor
  • Developing Effective Team Building/Coaching Skills
  • Gossips, Complainers and Terminators, Oh My. - Dealing with Problem
  • Employees
  • Ethical/Legal Responsibilities of Management
  • Developing a "True" QA/QI Program
  • Project Management Principals
  • Hiring: Against All Odds
  • Improving Public and Media Relations
  • Myths and Urban Legends of Emergency Medical Dispatch
  • Making Performance Appraisals Work!
Web Seminars allow you to receive high quality, topic-specific training at the convenience of your desk. Web Seminars also are an economical way to present information to groups of employees as they can be displayed in a conference room setting. Web Seminar tuition is charged per log-in, not per person, at a very economical $59 for APCO International members and $79 for non-members.

"APCO Institute is committed to offering affordable, high quality and easily accessible continuing dispatch education training for communications professionals," APCO Institute Director Candice Solie said. "We hope our Supervisor Tool Kit Web Seminar Series will benefit many individuals as they work to enhance their job skills."
