"John has worked in the state's public safety arena for more than 35 years. I worked with John when he was a State Trooper, the Emergency Management Director, and as our Director of Homeland Security. He has done a great job for South Dakota and we will miss him. His retirement is well-earned, and we wish him the best," said Public Safety Secretary, Tom Dravland.
