According to TechCrunch, upon getting into the account, Gevers disclosed the security lapse via email to US-CERT, a division of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) within the Department of Homeland Security. Gevers said the password has since been changed. Spokespersons from Twitter and the White House, however, stated there was no evidence that the president’s account had been accessed, and a spokesperson for CISA did not confirm the report.
This is not the first time that Gevers has reportedly gained access to Trump’s Twitter account. In 2016, he and two others used the 2012 LinkedIn breach to extract his password, which they said was his Apprentice catchphrase “yourefired.”
