Amazon has released the latest version of its bi-annual transparency report, and it appears that governments wanted a lot of data from the company last year.

In the first six months of 2020, Amazon said it processed 3,222 demands for user data from governments around the world. In the second six months of the same year, that demand increased by 800 percent, up to a total of 27,664 requests.

The data in question ranges from shopping searches to Echo and Ring device data. According to the report, the largest number of requests came from Germany at 42 percent, then 18 percent from Spain, with the U.S. and Italy tying in at 11 percent each. Amazon reportedly released user content data in 52 cases.
