It’s been almost a year since the new James Bond film, "No Time To Die," was slated for release and then delayed, and then delayed again, because of the coronavirus pandemic. It is now scheduled for release in October of 2021, a full year and a half after its original release date. That means it’s been even longer since the movie was filmed, a fact that is now causing some serious headaches for some tech brands.

That’s because the film, if left as it is now, will depict the characters using outdated versions of their technology. The biggest concern is with smartphones — the movie reportedly includes HMD Global’s Nokia 8.3 5G phone, which came out in 2020, and the Nokia 7.2 from 2019. Those phones will be old news by October 2021. In order to preserve its marketing deals, the film is going to need some new edits or even reshoots before then.

“The big tech firms want the stars to have all the new up-and-coming products to help promote them and sell them to fans,” a source told The Sun, according to The Verge. “It means some of the scenes are going to have to be very carefully edited and looked at to bring things up to date.”
