What is more unsettling than 1,000 robots dancing in sync?

Answer: more than 1,000 robots dancing in sync

OK, so it’s not that many more, but these 1,069 “Dobi” robots that set a new Guinness World Record for the most robots dancing simultaneously (the previous record was 1,007) is still a little bit scary. There are just so many of them!

But they could be doing worse things as an ensemble, like plotting to overthrow us, which is why we’ll turn a blind eye to the fact that a couple of them fell down during the performance (and were subsequently deducted from the final count).

The dance party went down in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, and was programmed and controlled by a central control system. The Dobi robots can apparently also sing, box and even do kung fu (in case you weren’t nervous already).
