How much will Vuzix’s smart glasses set you back?

Answer: Only $1,000.

Seen at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses are finally available for purchase nearly a year later. These tech-laden glasses are what many consumers probably expected but never quite got from Google Glass, and they’re definitely a lot more stylish.

The Vuzix Blade packs quite a few features into its frame, which is bigger than most “dumb” glasses but doesn’t seem outlandish or unwieldly. There’s an 8-megapixel camera that can take photos or record 720p video, noise-cancelling microphones, and a display that can mirror notifications from an Android or iOS phone via a companion app. There’s also the ability to watch movies, though the battery may struggle to make it through a full-length feature without recharging.
